The Voice Speaks….On The 24/7 Championship

THE OSWA 24/7 CHAMPIONSHIP

2012-2014

When I say the words “Twenty Four Seven” what does that mean to you? For most people it means something that is always happening 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To us here at OSWA (well most of us at least anyway) 24/7 meant something a little more. It was (and still is at least to me) one of the most unique championships to ever be created in wrestling history. It is a championship that was always up for grabs anywhere, anyplace, anytime. You didn’t have to be pinned to win it. You could lose at a game of rock paper scissors like Sushi Roll did, and with an OSWA official present you could lose the championship. It was a very special title that a lot of us here at OSWA that will always hold a special place in our lives. A lot of people have held the 24/7 title from Security Guards like Milly Justice to referees like Lee Justice (who oddly enough won it from Milly by pinning her while she was sleeping one night and counting his own pin fall) to managers like the for mentioned Sushi Roll to OSWA Heroes and Villains alike. Even yours truly was a former 24/7 Champion. That Championship meant the world to me. It was the first major championship I’ve held in my career. It also by far was the most competitive title in the companies history. There was one night during a match where the 24/7 championship changed hands over 7 times in that one match. It was always exciting to watch when the champion came out cause you never knew if they were going to leave with the championship at the end of the night, however those times seem to be over. As this past weekend Our Illustrious (using that term very loosely) Commissioner Mr. Zach Daniels stripped then champion Curtis Coleman of the title and told an official to get rid of it. So there will no longer be a 24/7 title. However he says that a new and better championship will be on the horizon to replace it. The OSWA Generations Championship. I know nothing about it personally but I do know one thing. It’s not the 24/7 championship that we have all come to know and love. So this is here to remembrance of the Championship that was summed up in three numbers…..24/7.

P.S. please feel free to comment below and let us know your favorite 24/7 Championship moment.

Thank You and continue to Believe In The O,
